HARRY POTTER star Emma Watson lived up to her character Hermione's high standards by getting top grades in her exams yesterday.

Emma, 16, who plays the brainbox in the film versions of JK Rowling's books, got eight A-stars and two As in her GCSEs.

The actress, from Oxford, achieved her success despite juggling her studies with filming the blockbuster franchise.

She is currently in the middle of filming the Order Of The Phoenix, the fifth in the series about the boy wizard.

In a newsletter to fans earlier this year, Watson said she had been back at school working hard in the run-up to the exams.

She said: "I keep reminding myself of how great it will feel once they are over and I get to put my books away for a short time -not very Hermione, I know."

Last week, Daniel Radcliffe, who plays Harry in the films, heard he had achieved three A-grades in his AS-levels.

He is now taking a year out from his studies to pursue acting, including a West End production of Equus.

Princess Eugenie, also 16, scored two A-stars, four As and three Bs in her GCSEs yesterday.

The younger daughter of Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York was said to be "very relieved and happy".
